Pros

The people are phenomenal, the catered lunches is a great perk and saves a lot of employees money, there are great clubs and ways to connect with colleagues. The mission, in theory is powerful and could have changed the world.

Cons

As I mentioned, the mission is great - in theory. We as a company supposedly stand behind the idea that we want to make pharmaceuticals more affordable in an unforgiving healthcare system that likes to beat those who are ill for all they have. Through my experiences and countless others experiences at Blink, you learn quickly that we prioritize patients - aka MEN, who are eager to purchase medications for aesthetic enhancement (such as propecia) or the enhancement of their pleasure (viagra). We hardly think twice about the costs we have, "negotiated," for patients suffering from life threatening illnesses and rely on us for costly medications such as various blood thinners, insulin, and countless more. Our promise to ship medication to patients in a timely manner, OFTEN falls through and packages are lost, arrive in broken shattered bottles, or arrive with incorrect quantities. Most employees would not trust Blink to handle their medications, yet we market how, "wonderful," our service is. When changes are being made on an executive level, employees in other departments are rarely informed until last minute. There is hardly any cross communication between departments. The customer service team in particular is the backbone of the company - anyone who says different is looking with rose colored glasses. Customer service works directly with the patients who we rely on for the business to work, and continue to work. No one listens or values customer service. They are brushed aside, the only department with who are non-exempt, only department with different vacation policies, the lowest paid workers in the company, and they are the only ones who know what's actually working verses what is not. And please don't confuse the customer service managers with actual customer service - they are literally all horrible. Totally disconnected from the team and what the job actually entails. You took calls and supported customers years ago before the business grew, you haven't taken or cared to take the opportunity to experience what the cx side of the business is like NOW. You just delegate, dictate, and sit back and relax. Sort of pathetic.

Pros

From day one, everyone at Blink has been super supportive in getting me acclaimed to the complexities that plague our healthcare system in America. With all the new grounds Blink is breaking by providing affordable drugs to people nationwide, it has been a pleasure experiencing all the effort put into establishing an exciting and inclusive culture. Even when things go wrong, the teams here make it a point to learn from the wrongdoings rather than pointing fingers and searching for a person to blame. Nothing is ever completely peachy wherever you are, but considering Blink operates in such a tough industry, one that concerns the livelihoods of people all over, the effort in establishing a great company culture is one of Blink's many strong suits. I am more than glad for making the choice to sign on here and I am confident it was one of best choices I've made in my career.

Cons

Living the startup life is not easy and Blink is victim to some of the startup woes which include hairy codebases, some outdated documentation and sometimes unrealistic deadlines. Considering the company is growing at a fast pace, there is much hope that these problems will be remedied with well-staffed and capable teams

Pros

Hands down, definitely one of the smoothest onboarding experiences I've ever had. Everyone was incredibly welcoming and helpful from my first day all the way to the present. Even with a massive codebase and growth all around I never felt like I'd been left adrift or neglected. The documentation culture here is particularly strong and everyone takes extra care with reviewing your code and making sure you understand the concepts and architecture you're working with. Overall I have found Blink Health to be the kind of place every company should aspire to be like. People care here. They care about the product, about the process and about their teammates. This is not the type of company you'd typically find.

Cons

The company is undergoing some really rapid growth - blitzscaling being the accurate term. With that, there are growing pains and conflict/confusion and the occasional disorganization as teams move around. This is par for the course with any startup and, as usual, some people who have been here for a long time end up leaving in the transition. It can be jarring or overwhelming when someone leaves or when the focus is on bringing on more team members and getting everyone set up but it requires an understanding that we're all working to get to a solid foundation and a great jumping-off point.
