This is for Canadian branches:
-Branches are micro-managed by head office
-Endless (mostly useless) meetings from head office to push fundraising campaigns
-Often treated as though you are incompetent from head office
-Feeling of "money first" (not people first); aggressive fundraising techniques
-Heavy pressure from management & head office if you're not reaching fundraising targets
-Large events required a lot of overtime, but management put large amounts of pressure to reduce overtime which causes a lot of stress
-Very stressful working environment, lots of pressure from management
-Very disorganized management
-VERY HIGH TURNOVER. Felt like every other week somebody was leaving the organization
-Very poor, old-fashioned types of fundraising programs that no longer work. However, head office continues to push them, even when national fundraising dollars reflect that these programs are no longer working
-Very poor office environment: not much social time or team-building
-TOO MANY MANAGERS. Some branches had upwards of 5 managers, but only 1 admin person. Everyone at head office seemed to be a manager of some type
-Business structure did not make sense. Too much management and not a lot of productive work
-Certain employees were very rude, passive-aggressive and often nasty to branch employees. Management was aware but never seemed to do anything about it. Unsure how these people kept their jobs
