Pros

They off competitive non-profit pay, excellent benefits and time off. With a small chapter staff, each employee really has the opportunity to get their hands in all aspects of business - there is opportunity for those that are motivated. Working towards a great mission makes any job easier and they have a great reputation for putting funds towards finding a cure.

Cons

Upper management at my location often lacked tact and professionalism in many different settings. Issues were brought to the attention of national-level HR, which seemingly chose to ignore proven complaints in order to keep a longtime employee. The environment became way too stressful to deal with on a daily basis. I'm sure this is not the case across the board, but was my experience at one location.

Pros

Flexibility with time off, autonomy.

Cons

Salary at 40% less than comparable non-profits. Very few opportunities, and no method to promoting, etc. The donor dollars are spent horribly, as I see absolutely no business management sense.
