Meaningful Mission, Inconsistent Internal Leadership

Pros

Bloomerang does meaningful work for nonprofit organizations. The product and mission are strong, and there are genuinely kind and encouraging leaders within the organization. The interview process is pleasant and professional, and some teams foster collaboration and support.

Cons

There is a noticeable disconnect between the care shown to nonprofit clients and the care shown to internal team members. Leadership quality varies significantly. While some leaders are supportive and easy to work with, others operate with unrealistic expectations and lack the ability to truly coach, develop, or set their teams up for success. Compensation has been noted in previous reviews as below market, and that remains accurate. Employees are frequently encouraged to go above and beyond, innovate new processes, and contribute ideas to drive company growth. However, compensation does not reflect the level of contribution expected. Job descriptions can also be misleading. While the interview process is positive, there is limited transparency around the actual team culture, the working style of specific executives, and day to day expectations. This can create a disconnect once you are in the role. Would I Recommend? I would recommend this company primarily to someone very early in their career who is looking to gain experience. Even then, I would suggest viewing it as a short term stepping stone rather than a long term opportunity. There are many organizations that expect high performance but offer more competitive pay and benefits in return.

Pros

Non-Profit Impact: It is incredibly rewarding to work for a company that genuinely empowers the non-profit community. You feel the impact of your work daily knowing you're helping organizations raise more and do more good. Remote Work & Flexibility: Working from home is a huge perk here. The company actually walks the talk when it comes to work/life balance, giving you the space to manage your life without feeling chained to a desk. Employee Centric: There is a real sense that leadership cares. Even when things get busy, you feel valued as a human being, not just a number. Internal Mobility: If you feel "stuck" in a role, the culture is very open to internal moves. My supervisors and teammates have always been approachable for honest conversations about my career path and growth. Forward-Thinking with AI: I’m excited about the new projects in the works. The company has been very transparent about AI—viewing it as a tool to enhance our work rather than a way to replace employees.

Cons

Compensation: The pay can be a bit below the industry average for some roles. However, when you factor in the flexibility, culture, and remote benefits, the "total package" still feels worth it for me. Sales Focus: There is a heavy emphasis on sales/growth. While it’s understandable (and necessary for us to stay competitive and viable), it can definitely make the environment feel fast-paced and high-pressure at times.
