Feels like I'm working in a circus

Pros

The people left from when it was a family-owned company make it bearable to work here.

Cons

After the corporate buyout, a lot of managers resigned due to the toxic culture. Now, most managers, including several on the corporate level, have not a clue of what they are doing. They are unqualified, and no one is training them. There are also very young adults (20-21) filling these management positions (because they can't find anyone else to entertain this circus). Because of their lack of experience, it is negatively affecting how the business runs. Managers on the corporate level try to tell the dealerships what to do, as if the employees who have worked there for years don't know better. Sometimes what they are asking is near impossible. They are trying to make all of the stores exactly the same, but it is an impossible task because a lot of administrative stuff depends on what state the store is in. These corporate managers will try to tell you what to do, yet when you need support, they are nowhere to be found. Everyone is running extremely thin. This company grew too fast, and I believe regional and national managers are struggling to keep up with the growth. They cannot attend to all problems, and I don't think they have the solutions. No one is held accountable to any degree. If you are producing sales and making money, they will keep you even if you have several HR complaints. Finance, sales, and service are allowed to miss paperwork, ignore customers' phone calls, and do anything they want without consequence. Without accountability, it is impossible to enforce policies and procedures to make the store run affectively. When you are in a position that relies on the store running smoothly, it is an absolute nightmare to get anything done. You will not receive a raise, even if it is promised in writing. If you are salary or hourly, you will be stagnant for the remainder of your career. You can't help but think that it's because the company is doing poorly financially. They will expect you to do more tasks and work for the same amount of pay.
