Pros

They take their time finding and hiring the 'right fit' to prevent high turnover. Wonderful people. Surrounded by super intelligent people who want to do a good job. Most enjoy coming to work (working from home) every day.

Cons

Losing some great talent due to R&D types (that have been around since the company was 50 employees) not wanting to function like a true manufacturing company (follow the rules, can't do whatever you want, etc.). That's just growing pains though and most that I know that have left have been from the early days and complained about change. Have heard of high turnover, and may be due to a lot of aerospace co. competition in the area. Development engineers sometimes don't know when to stop designing/redesigning and thus leads to delays in manufacturing getting designs on what to build, thus delays in schedule. Need to be more efficient overall.

Great Company, Great Owner, Great Engineers

Pros

Owner is committed to the mission. He's investing $1B/year, has a long term vision, and has been consistent in his philosophy for how to build the company. The engineering team, especially the Guidance and Control (G&C) team, is world class - best I've worked with in my career. The G&C team consists of a mixture of PhD's, MS,, and Bachelors. Most from top 10 schools - e.g, MIT, Stanford, Texas A&M. Engineers are given substantial responsibility to design and deliver code that flies. Many of the original members are still here - turnover is very low.

Cons

Company is scaling up and it can be difficult to integrate new engineers into the processes of the team. With growth comes more bureaucracy but the company continues to try and create small teams that work independently on projects.
