      Pros

      Overall higher paying compared to general practice. Practices better medicine compared to general practice

      Cons

      Highly dependent on the location you work for and what management you have. Not enough of a work-life balance depending on the specialty you work for. Very expensive for clients and prices for treatments increase multiple times a year however this is never reflected in my pay

      Pros

      Great pay and benefits. Staff of specialists are incredibly helpful and talented. Vets are technical staff themselves are usually super caring and hardworking aside from some outliers. Can at times be very rewarding. Great for people who love the adrenaline or love learning, has a super high skill ceiling and you can always learn new skills.

      Cons

      Management (especially the further you go up the ladder) does not care about their employees. Job itself is not for the weak or those prone to exhaustion or compassion fatigue. You WILL get constantly yelled at by owners due to the stress their pets are under and the awful prices, some coworkers are prone to hazing, and it is a very sink or swim type of environment.
