Pros

Potential for overtime because of massive turn over with company. Learning about luxury brands that can lead to employment elsewhere

Cons

Everything About this company is a con. No holiday pay. harassing management who are spread so thin because company refuses to add on management to fit the growth of stores. Too many politics. If you're interested in feeling like you are going to throw up before work everyday this is for you! The past year has been the worst year of my life. I would never recommend this company to anyone except if you are homeless or facing homelessness and need something desperately. I would never wish on anyone what myself or my colleagues have been through. Marla and Barry clearly don't care and I've never seen greed within a company to this extent. Yes they are growing, creating jobs but the stores can't profit when there's one store every 8 blocks(in NYC). I give it 3-5 years before half the stores close. Management is the biggest joke. If you want to be physically attacked and assaulted while at work by a manager go ahead and work here!!! Oh yes, there was a manager who allegedly assaulted someone and not only has her job, but has been promoted. Shows what type of company this is! I hope Macys steps in and gets rid of these types of people and starts over New because with the managers in place now this business will fail. The turn over is extremely high, because of pay and too much stress. This is not a job that keeps your mind going but a place to sit around and rot because nothing happens. If you're interested in artistry, skincare haircare and the industry in general do not work here because it will make you highly consider never doing this again.

Pros

Nothing that I can think of. I quit.

Cons

They treat Estheticians horrible. I was there a month. I signed something to get a spa license however it was never posted on the wall. I couldn't get a clear pay scale in written or verbal. When I finally had a good week they said all they were paying me is minimum wage. WHAT!!! That's $7.35 cents a hour. I was told three different pay scales from different people since the interview. My sales were going under other employees numbers. I feel in my business opinion they are just using the spa as a tax write off. Such a huge disappointment. I'm taking my 17 years of experience somewhere that deserves it. And I wish I would have listened to the other reviews here on Glassdoor.

Pros

nice looking store & good products and that's it ...

Cons

The "positive" comments are obviously coming from management "what a joke ! Only one way to find out what's the truth .... Just Fill out an application " don't need a college degree, don't need a cosmetology degree" just need a HSD "just like all the girls that work there" and some retail experience .... Wait for a bit .... Let me know how it goes... ......some advice... Don't ask too many questions because they think everyone is out to get them, petty but if you're the "pretty thin young one " they will hate you and talk about you", typical but if you're middle age, average looking or overweight they won't bother you .. Petty but truth ... Micromanage you, discourage you and training is awful !!! And the pay should be 20+ plus commission "whatever you sale"... There are so many incredible businesses out there with GOOD employees, great pay and GOOD management and respectful managers that genuinely like to help others.. Do not settle for a dead end job like Bluemercury... This company will make you miserable like the employees that have been working there over a year .. I'm grateful for myNEW career and so grateful that I'm working with awesome girls And a wonderful boss..... Please guys save the headaches ... Go after your dreams !!! Don't settle for less!! # don't wanna wake up in your late 30s-40s making 30k a year at bluemercury... God bless
