Cons

Where do I begin? I have been in luxury cosmetics since 2009 (working at 5 different Macy's locations and one Nordstrom store), and in luxury cosmetics management since 2010. The idea of this company was a breath of fresh air initially (I was referred by a former colleague) and I was absolutely in love with it...for the honeymoon stage. Shortly after I started, the seams began to unravel. There were numerous things brushed under the rug (harassment by a co-manager, discrimination, harassment and bullying by DM, 'layoffs' of a pregnant employee because they overstaffed certain stores). Needless to say, it was a complete mess. HR is a joke and no one has any idea what policies are or gives you any sort of cohesive answer. The gossiping is out of control, especially since it is started by the upper management. And should we touchbase on these Glassdoor reviews? If you notice, most do not have a location for current employees...This is because the DMs will gather all Managers on a conference call and go over the Glassdoor review WORD FOR WORD until someone confesses that it was them. With the amount of time the corporate team spends trolling GD, they really could accomplish a lot (like not losing expense reports for months at a time...!). They promise and promise growth opportunities, but also give you no clear path as to what it takes to ACTUALLY get promoted. There is so much more dirty laundry that could be dealt out, but the tip of the iceberg should be enough to defer anyone from this horrid company.
