Pros

A company with real ethics, something you can be proud to represent. I worked with the best people and even met Marla a few times. A very exciting concept and still exciting to see it grow. I am fortunate enough to have a great boss. The support and leadership of Lauren, has been a true game-changer for me professionally. I just got promoted to bigger volume store.

Pros

I've been with bluemercury a little over a year and have enjoyed the opportunities that come with being part of a fast-paced, growing company! The size of the company allows you to mold your role and have the ability to have direct impact on the day to day business decisions. Even as we continue to grow, the company maintains a very entrepreneurial approach where opinions and ideas are appreciated and matter. I have also noticed that the corporate culture has continued to strengthen over the past year or so - something that is very important to me. The company has hired some wonderful, driven and incredibly talented people who enjoy working together to better the company. My experience so far has been very positive.

Cons

Since the company has small, family-owned business roots, some of the policies and infrastructure that you would expect from what is now a bigger company don't always exist. You need to be able to self-manage and have initiative, but it is sometimes difficult to understand or ask how certain processes are supposed to work if they aren't always there. As an employee I have found that it is important to have discussions with management (doors are always open - great line of communication) when things are not well defined, because they are usually willing to help explain how to better develop a process for the future.
