Pros

I like that I could sell my favorite lines and not be forced to sell what I'm "supposed to sell". Lots of gratis and trainings on all the lines. Laid back compared to a department store setting per say.

Cons

Over worked and under paid. Doing doubles like 9:30-9:30 twice or 3 times a week. Lots of events every weekend and high unreachable goals. If you are not a Manager you will be closing a lot almost every shift. The health insurance is extremely expensive. I rarely get to see my family and friends and the managers aren't compassionate about the issue. The managers are legit being told "You're not here to make the employees happy, you're here to make business happen". I understand where they are coming from but to an extent. Don't you think if you have unhappy employees, wouldn't that effect the business.

Pros

Work-life Web balance was acceptable. I was able to balance my schedule with school.

Cons

There was ni employee break room, so we either had to sneak bites of food on the sales floor, which looked very unprofessional, especially since customers had no idea that we had nowhere to eat. If we brought our lunches, the only other place to eat was in an unoccupied spa treament room, which is against health code & terribly unhygienic. Also, whenever I worked the closing shift with the manager, the store would stay open as long as she wanted which sometimes was until 11 p.m. in order to sell a few dollars more.

Horrible.

Pros

Very lax, do your own thing, make your own rules, low accountability. Very little direction from upper management (this will be a good thing for some I'm sure).

Cons

No structure, professionalism, respect for time off, pay does not match experience in any position. Hiring standards do not meed industry norms, you are frequently asked to go above and beyond job duties without proper compensation, asked to work 10-14 hours days at least once a week.
