Pros

If I was looking at these for a job at Blue Mercury, I would be very careful to look at the dates on these positive reviews. We are all cracking up at them at HQ. I think they made leadership write them!!!

Cons

They had to fake write reviews!!!

Cons

I worked for this company for a few years. Managed majority of my time with the company. Unfortunately as most companies in cosmetics that go through major changes ,Bluemercury unfortunately lost their value in employees. Particularly in upper management. When I first started in the company it was so much fun . I had 2 previous district managers both good experiences prior to the 3rd and unfortunately all the DMs have different management styles . Meaning some are better than others . For the past 6 months I dealt with countless thefts at my store while getting no support from my supervisor, which caused a great deal of stress and strain on my health . Ultimately bullied out of my job. Worked super hard with minimal communication and support. Constant schedule changes etc. This DM decided manipulate situations and use it against me from the handbook . It was something that was shared with me by this district manager as a way to “ get rid “ of someone . I should have known it would one day happen to me. This is not how you should treat an employee that was top sales in company countless times. Not a good idea to get rid of someone that had a great passion for Bluemercury and it’s brand m61.Very disappointing this company turned out to treat employees this way.

Pros

Tons of gratis from brands. The clients are great, if you take the time to get to know them, you will be able to get other job opportunities for yourself or someone you know. It is a great place to network yourself, even if you don't want to be in the beauty industry. Had a great team and some amazing coworkers. You learn a lot about beauty products and skincare....lots of education.

Cons

During my time at Bluemercuy (less than a year), I went through one of the most stressful and dramatic times in my life. The pay is terrible, absolutely terrible. If you ask for a raise they will LAUGH in your face or offer you a dollar more (which is a slap in the face considering how much time and energy is spent working like a dog for this company). There is NO communication from upper management, and when there is, its false or condescending information. It is HIGHLY evident that the DM's have favorites...not only does it show in how often they visit each store(s), but in how they accommodate other employees. There is no sick time posted on pay stubs (which is ILLEGAL in the county and state that I live in)...when my coworkers and I tried to get a hold of HR to find out how much sick time we had, NO ONE called or emailed us back. There was even an altercation between some employees, almost to the point where it was physical, and NO ONE did anything about it. No one cares about how hard you work for this company. Yes, you do get a lot of free products, but trust me, it is SO NOT worth it. You will have NO work/life balance.
