Pros

I like that I could sell my favorite lines and not be forced to sell what I'm "supposed to sell". Lots of gratis and trainings on all the lines. Laid back compared to a department store setting per say.

Cons

Over worked and under paid. Doing doubles like 9:30-9:30 twice or 3 times a week. Lots of events every weekend and high unreachable goals. If you are not a Manager you will be closing a lot almost every shift. The health insurance is extremely expensive. I rarely get to see my family and friends and the managers aren't compassionate about the issue. The managers are legit being told "You're not here to make the employees happy, you're here to make business happen". I understand where they are coming from but to an extent. Don't you think if you have unhappy employees, wouldn't that effect the business.

Pros

30% discount on luxury makeup.

Cons

-Horrible management -Horrible pay, they trick you and tell you when they hire you will get commission. This is a flat out lie, I worked for 2 years at 5 different locations across the east coast, no store will give you commission. -Poor ethics -Long hours and they don't pay over time, they will make you stay and yell at you even if you can't. -District manager will curse you out and scream at every employee if goals are not made for the day. She's a nightmare, whole company hates her.

Pros

Lot's of learning. Gratis. Discount. Fun co-workers. Top brands. Top clientele.

Cons

Filthy store behind the scenes. If you have a manager that cares, expect to do a lot of cleaning, because Bluemercury does NOT hire professionals to deep clean their stores, ever, even during the Covid-19 pandemic! YOU will do ALL of the cleaning and they only give you minimal supplies! They are even keeping pre-Covid testers in the back with intent to return them to the floor, these should all be thrown out. Lots of their products are on the shelves for years. They only care about their bottom line, not your well being or the customers.
