Pros

Pay & benefits were good. Global opportunities. Great mid-management people (Many of the best people I know work there!); technological advantages give them clout; Work hard and kiss butts and you'll succeed... for a while.

Cons

Constant layoffs limit advancement (too much pay/benefits= laid off), cause constant change, add new responsibilities without additional pay/benefits, stress out employees who see their key staff leaving and wonder if they're next and lead to poorly trained/capable staff; Old boys club culture means you're either in or out; Too many managers trying to make a name for themselves because they have to or else; Executives are masters at bending the truth; Little care for wellbeing of employees from upper mgmt (low/mid-mgmt typically doesn't share in this): Harassment and inappropriate situations; FREQUENT no-win situations (primarily due to having too many bosses)- especially between drilling services and products (the resale/manufacturing division); Little to no concern for the future of employees; Do what I say/not what I do mentality; Sr. Management perks are rarely shared with the rest of the company; Lack of accountability; Lack of authority to effect needed change; Little appreciation for skill sets beyond your capability to give the desired answer; Frequent requirement to lie to customers; Code of ethics is what YOU should follow, but not necessarily Sr. mgmt.; Metrics are frequently completely disassociated from actual market conditions; Sr. Management thinks they know what's best for everyone, but since they're never in the trenches, they don't know what they don't know.
