Dear Former Boelter Associate:
Like many businesses, Boelter experienced an unprecedented decline in revenues due to the economic shut downs of the pandemic in 2020. We are experiencing a remarkable recovery due to the terrific efforts of our sales and customer service teams, supported by marketing, supply chain, technology, human resources, finance and distribution. We are growing back amidst one of the most challenging environments in our company’s 90 year history – rising prices of goods and freight, shortages of people and products all combine to create a very unpredictable and challenging road. It’s an all-out team effort! With the exception of some setbacks in associate pay during 2020/21, associate compensation is competitive, consistent and improves every year. Sales compensation is variable by nature and more open ended on the upside than ever – very motivating for sales people 😊.
On the subject of manual/admin work and time selling – I couldn’t agree more with you! Boelter is successfully moving into the next generation of our business, built on digital platforms supported by sustainable, scalable systems and processes. This is significant change and often very difficult, but we are succeeding because of the talent and insightful problem solving of our leaders and front line teams. As you mention, it is critical to get to the root cause of problems, and while we may not always get it the first time, we do not give up and we are making very impressive progress. We are succeeding and growing in terms of revenue and people – numerous growth opportunities and promotions for existing associates, and many very impressive new associates joining our team. Lots to be optimistic about!
Thank you for taking the time to relay feedback on your Boelter experience, albeit after you have left the company. Business is hard work and requires a total team effort. In the future, I encourage you to constructively engage in being part of the solution with your organization and make a difference while you are still there.
Sincerely,
Rick Boelter
