Pros

No waiting on bench like other IT companies, as there is lot of work Good people to learn new things. Free lunch with decent quality is a good thing.

Cons

Recruitment - They wait for entire notice period, so do not pay in your company to join them early. Once selected they do not reject a candidate as they want to hire lot of people and are unable to do so. HR makes false promises at the time of recruitment and unless you have these promises in written, do not believe them. Afterwards if you go to the HR team about the promises made to you, they shamelessly say that if there is nothing in written they will not agree. Do not compromise on salary, because after you join there is no promotion policy existing and increments are not very good. Team allocation - Random is the best word to describe team allocation. If you know C++/C#/Java you will work on Block Diagram, if you know MATLAB, you will work on C++, if you know project management you will work in system engineering,if you know system engineering you will work on project management. If you do not know anything but are willing to work hard you become a line manager. If you do not know anything and are not willing to work also, you become HR. Work - Depends on your luck. Technology wise the work is not much challenging although you might get good chance to learn rail domain. If you are in a good team, you can learn domain from your peers which can be interesting but mostly the work is leftover from Europe, so you end up doing maintenance and uninteresting development. If you want to move from one team to another(by your choice), managers give you bad rating, but if they want to shuffle you across projects they can move you 2-3 times in a month. Leadership skills are valued more than technical expertise. This is because managers are non-technical and they often need other people to save their shortcomings in front of higher management. Low maturity of software engineering in the entire organization with rigid attitude to not change. Infrastructure - Dangerous location with very risky highway in front of office. Very poor seating arrangement, washrooms, meeting rooms and canteen. Slow servers, no team to handle releases and processes. Developers waste time in handling all these procedures. IT requests take a lot of time to response as there is no IT person or department at the location with more than 150 people. Overall lacks quality of MNC. Leadership - Favoritism for some specific people by higher management Managers are not skilled for people management or project management. Most of them are having narrow mindset and do not look for long term solutions. Local management also follows german style of management and policies and does not handle Indian team with due necessities. Unfair comparisons are made between Europe and India team , when there are many differences existing in facilities and opportunity Management is not serious to develop long term team , but only focused to have short term results so that they can save their face. Lack of focus on R&D which has put bombardier way behind its competitors. Leadership is only focused on KPIs but not how to modernize the tools and technology to save time of employees. Old leadership with old mindset is the problem. Environment - Environment among employees is very disappointing as raising ones concerns is considered complaining against the management. Management only speaks big things but if you ask them how they plan to achieve it, they do not have any idea. No feedback throughout the year, you only get your rating at end of year which is illogical and without facts. Favoritism is clearly prevalent from HOD's to Technical Leads. They always favor people with whom they have good offline relations and not ones who work hard. No rewards are given for your work. Lot of red tape in the processes. Very hard to make anything work. Good people and supportive but very bad management. Useless expats come to India, waste a lot of money, enjoy travelling all of India with Family and then say bad things about India on social media. If same is done by any Indian he/she would be fired from the company. No HR to address employee issues. HR is only to support managers for every wrong doing of theirs. Conclusion - If you want to live a life without learning and happy even if you do not grow any further you can join this company. If you want to learn and grow stay away from this company forever.

Pros

Location is the only benefit as it's a non metro city and less traffic.

Cons

1. Most dissatisfaction in employees joined before 2015 as even freshers get better salary than them. Worst part is no one is bothered about this. 2. Managers say - "You can't get more than average rating in first 3 years. And after that you have to perform beyond your PMP goals for 2 years, then you might get above average rating." 3. Increments are never in double digits. 4. Line managers have no rights deciding the way forward for their team. They are just puppets. 5. No on-site opportunities as the focus is shifting towards India. 6. No promotion/appreciation to hard working employees. LMs quote the ratings when the difference is clearly visible. 7. There is a culture developed by a few that if you want something extra(be it hike, promotion, ratings) you have to be close to the LM. 8. They just want to cut the costs anyhow. If you offer not to take increments, they might even take that. Their prime focus is cost and not the employee. 9. They offer higher positions based on salary of a newly hired person. But, they don't have any plans to promote the existing ones. Hope, this would help many who are about to join. Think twice, and if you have another offer, take it even if the pay is less than what BT has offered. You will condemn your decision after joining.
