Pros

Public service, low expectations, friendly people. In theory you are working in the long term interest of people in small communities throughout the north west region.

Cons

Lazy career feds, poor middle management, infighting, exploitation of contractor staff, excellence is not rewarded, no clue what a VP does all day. Business model is currently in question. In practice you are doing the minimum work needed to keep your job

Pros

Decent work life balance in some organizations.

Cons

Favoritism. Lack of advancement opportunities due to favoritism even though BPA failed their OIG hiring audit. Strong entitlement attitude among long time federal employees. Difficult place to work. Slackers are rewarded with light workloads while super stars are overloaded. Both get paid the same thanks to the federal OPM wage scales.

Pros

No one cares here so if you want to slack off it not an issue. Personally it drives me crazy

Cons

IT contractors are not treated well, they are not included in any decision making process. The environment is incredibly unnecessarily complicated and very hard to work in this environment . Any if you enjoy paperwork you will love it here.
