Pros

The company and product reputation. There are yearly bonuses dependent on company performance, which has been excellent over the years, and this can amount to anywhere from 5-20% of your yearly compensation. You can't beat the employee discounts on Bose product!

Cons

The culture does not allow for food or drink at your desk, other than water and wrapped candy. There are also no fitness facilities, due to the number of buildings and campus environment.

Pros

Bose is a company that takes great pride in its products. The mantra of "different and better" is held very deeply and really informs the technical and business decisions. The company is not fast-moving, but also is not afraid to take risks and try new things.

Cons

The constant influance (sometimes interfrerence) of Dr. Bose, who picks and chooses unusual oportunities to exert influence. This creates a constant atmosphere of worriing about what Dr. Bose will think. The culture is extremely conservative and consensus-based, it feels very slow-moving to someone used to the pace of a dot-com business.

Bose has a well established framework of human resources and is open to continuing education. The commitment to developing high quality products means support for research and development within the company.

Cons

Bose has a very insular secretive culture. Despite lip service to collaboration, access and support outside of your department is limited, even where more widespread access to information would be beneficial.
