Pros

Yes to be a better place to work 10 years ago and people used to be more friendly.

Cons

No work life balance, they work you to death. They expect people to work late and rarely close even with a foot or more snow storm. Past 15 years only closed twice. Very hard to get promoted and they have been cutting on all perks they use to offer such as Christmas lunches, gift cards, travel, offsite meetings, water, snacks and even coffee variety has been drastically reduced. Raises are poor does not even keep up with inflation. Do not recommend to work at Boston Scientific if you want to enjoy having a life with your family. Too much politics all they care is about the numbers and no consideration or appreciation to employees anymore.

Pros

The technical staff of BSC is top-notch. Their dedication and experience is comparable or exceeds that of other medical device companies.

Cons

The current business environment within BSC is characterized by the continuing employment uncertainties. BSC is not an innovator from within. It is a company the simply purchases innovation from others and then applies its bundensome internal procedures to attempt to develop something for commercialization. This speaks volumes to the top-notch , dediated and experienced technical staff remaining at BSC.

Pros

I love the people that I worked with. It is for them that I stayed there. However, it's very frustrating to see the most competent people passed over for a promotion in lieu of those who play the office political game well. The best revenge for those passed over is that they all moved on to better jobs elsewhere!

Cons

The expectation to attend meetings from 9 to 5 and then complete your work afterwards is unrealistic and does not make for a good home life. Working in finance, you're expected to close the books in three days, which make for very long days the first three days of the month. When you're finished for the day at the office at 8PM, you're expected to log back in at 4AM and check emails. Needless to say, having kids is not an option for most people there.
