      Pros

      Great community and colleagues. Interesting work. Good work life balance. Fun being around student life. University has some good resources everyone can use.

      Cons

      Difficult commute to Boston for anyone living outside the city. Lower pay than standard for contractors and no benefits. Slow HR.

      Pros

      Great tuition remission benefits & lots of ways to apply it. Quality educational programs & faculty. Like anywhere, there are some wonderful people doing great work.

      Cons

      Pay is not on par with other comparable universities, strong anti-union sentiment among upper level management, very little investment in quality performance planning and review system such that reviews are very ad hoc. Some offices pretty dysfunctional. Administrative culture at BU overly image-driven, more concerned with PR than getting things done well.
