Pros

BT is in a great location, especially if you live local to the seacoast of New Hampshire. Big on motivational speak, if you're into that sort of thing. Technology is pretty up to snuff/edge. Engineering team is great. Bright people, easy to work with and get along with.

Cons

They're kind of slave drivers. There is little-no celebration following releases... no opportunity to celebrate success - often, no ability to succeed due to far too aggressive schedules and poor planning. Always behind schedule - thus, grunts are pushed to work all hours. 55 hours per week at BT is "not working hard enough".

Pros

When I first started at Bottomline, it was a great place to work but has gone downhill since. 99% of the "good reviews" on here are fake and HR and the CEO persuades people to write them to their company looks better than it is.

Cons

Toxic, demeaning environment. Stop bringing in new teams and hiring 20 VPs at a time. All of the good, hardworking employees are leaving for bigger and better things. If you want to work in an under-appreciated place with little to no room for growth, this is the right place for you.

It has become a sad place to work

Pros

Good talented people; hard working teams. Benefit of being able to work from home (which is also a con when management doesn't respect home life).

Cons

Lots of morale issues. Engineers are all burned out. There is no work life balance. Upper management expects you to work 60-70 hours nights and weekends to complete projects with impossible deadlines. And when that project is done another project with another impossible deadline begins. Numerous times employees have been told to cancel vacations or work holidays (chirstmas and thanksgiving) in order to complete projects that management change on the fly (scope-creep) without extending deadlines. In the rare event that deadlines are extended management doubles the delivery scope rationalizing that they extended the time. The company follows a agile scrum process but it has become a joke. Developers estimates are simply ignored and management tells you how long it "should" take and to get it done by that time because it was promised to the client.
