Pros

Pretty much everything. Working at Bottomline has been everything I hoped it would be--from the big things to the small things. - The work is interesting and engaging. - The people are very knowledgable and very talented. - The compensation is fair. - The hours are reasonable. Sure, there may be times when you work extra, but it has never been an expectation that you are required to work X number of extra hours. The motivated people will do it on their own initiative when they aren't sacrificing other life commitments. - Flexible work arrangements (getting your work done and doing it well are most important). - Developer laptops (Macs and PCs) are adequately spec'd. - Executive leadership listens to employees. Numerous HR policies and workplace updates have come directly from employee feedback.

Cons

The only real con worth mentioning is the small amount of PTO offered. Other than that, the only cons are if you don't like to work. Yes, the work can be demanding at times, but so can life.

Pros

some flexibility to work from home at times like sickness or snow storm decent pay start with 3 weeks vacation BT offers workshops and mentoring to help you learn new skills shadowing other departments/teams for possible cross training or jump is nice Portsmouth office is in a great location, close to highways and places to eat during lunch hours are a little flexible if you have appointments CEO Rob Eberle is fantastic, gives great advice, easy to talk to, and takes the time to talk to you. There is also a "Straight to the CEO" link where you can message Rob and he reads them all and replies, very involved

Cons

benefits aren't as great now as when I started, employee price is higher, copays higher. long hours with no OT if you aren't in a phone queue job, bad work/life balance there are some higher up employees who are hard to work with, depending on your department, lots of throwing lower employees under the bus in order for them to look good in front of the customer

Great Co-workers, terrible management!

Pros

Bottomline Technologies is absolutely a innovative company. They have great products, ideas and coworkers.

Cons

Senior Management is absolutely awful. They are all hungry to climb to the top by toppling over lower level workers. They expect (even college hires) to jump right into their roles with little to no training; then rip them apart if they don't know something or do something wrong. Managers say they are "always there to help" and have an "open door policy. Unfortunately they just do not have the time to pay attention or care to help with day to day issues.
