Pros

Local, private community owned in good financial standing. High quality providers and nurses and support staff. CEO, CNO, CFO et al are very well paid.

Cons

Constantly understaffed at the bedside. Required to float from specialty areas to Med/Surg. Low paying, no pension for new employees (frozen for current employees), poor benefits. Low retention of new employees because they can go almost anywhere and receive higher pay and better benefits.

Pros

The facilities are new. The team is very close. It was fun to work with them.

Cons

It was rated to be one of the lowest paying hospitals in the 100 mile radius with very little opportunity for a raise. Understaffed of course, but which hospital isn't? Also, it is a non-profit hospital and the board members were one of the highest paid boards for a non-profit hospital... says it all I think.
