Hierarchy of other employees, nurses, doctors, etc., is demeaning and does not acknowledge everyone's different situation. Assumptions of a worker's intelligence and education level is usually wrong, and results in negative attitudes towards EVS workers.

"Safety Culture" is only for marketing purposes and to make the public think safety is key at this hospital. It is not. Rules do not apply to all staff. Facility often runs out of important supplies such as Sharps containers, Allergy bands, linen, etc. (everyday essentials for a health care facility). Nurses do not have say or shared governance regarding policies and procedures. The union is a complete joke. Nurses are required to pay an outrageous amount of union fees each year, but there is little to no support. It is all a smoke screen with this hospital.
