Pros

You will meet some of the most amazing, enthusiastic, well-rounded, bright and genuine people. These are the type of people they somehow manage to manipulate into working for them straight out of college.

Cons

Like previously mentioned, they poach shining college grads, who are thrilled to be *starting their career* and entering the workforce under the impression that Bozzuto is actually a reputable company that has their best interests in mind. Instead, they assign you an "on-boarding advisor", who is nothing more than someone who will email you once asking to meet then sit in front of you and text the entire time. Instead of talking about the steps to take for your career advancement and following up, they'll ghost you. BRIGHTSIDE: Bozzuto gives resume boosters with 0 training involved. Maybe I should have put that in Pros. The salary system is really the cherry on top. You'll be told to get actual licensing that should absolutely call for a raise and they'll look at you like three heads when ALL you're asking is that you be making a salary you can live on. I realize how bitter and jaded this all sounds, but this is coming from someone who was formerly classified as an enthusiastic college grad, excited about their career growth.

Not a Good Experience

Pros

The company has an excellent training program. My first day and first few weeks were AMAZING. I seriously was SO excited to be working for this company because of the way they market themselves. The company also promotes growth within. However, if you've been a property manager/assistant property manager for years at a different company, it is likely that you will still have to start out as a leasing consultant at this company. I'm sure there are some exceptions to the rule, but that's just what I've seen. The maintenance teams are also excellent as well. Good job maintenance!!

Cons

Honestly, I really wish I wasn't giving Bozzuto a one star. However, I am forced to because of my personal experience with upper management at my specific property and how Bozzuto lets the management treat us at their property. I would also put in 12+ hours a day about 3-4 times a week because management would tell us "you should not go home until your work is completed"......well at this property, things were awry (to put it nicely) and literally there was hours and hours of work that needed to be completed. However, since you're so busy being a leasing consultant and you're constantly interrupted by residents and prospects, there was never time to complete it....until AFTER the office was closed. And overtime pay? LOL! Forget it, you won't receive it unless approved by the property manager (which was never because we were "fully staffed" as they said). But I guess that's what you get when you're salaried! The work/life balance is NON-existent when you are working for Bozzuto (I've heard this from more than one property and a lot of reviews here agree). Being a property manager is the exception unless the ownership is visiting. You WILL be working 3 out of 4 weekends a month (both Sat and Sun) NO MATTER which property you are at. So that sucks, but they DO (or they should anyways) tell you at your interview. I do know a few people who have claimed that the manager said they would work 2 weekends max and then were surprised when they saw that they were put on for 3/4 weekends, but Bozzuto is pretty open about you having to work those weekends so there is usually no surprise there. Going off of how busy it was....having ONLY TWO SSA's working on a Saturday/Sunday is unacceptable. Prospects/residents have yelled at us more times than I can count because we didn't get to them in time. They say 3 leasing consultants is being "fully staffed" (so one SSA will have the weekend off while two work), but it is NEVER ENOUGH TO HAVE ONLY TWO WORK AT A SUPER BUSY PROPERTY. And of course management ALWAYS had EVERY weekend off! It's ridiculous and embarrassing and laughable. The pay....is awful. BUT that is also another defining characteristic of customer service and sales jobs. So be prepared. Remember, this is customer service AND high-pressure sales at the same time. You will do well if you do not let the stress get to you (i.e. residents screaming at and threatening you), and you will do well if you can handle managers slipping in those "or else" statements if you don't meet your sales goals for the week/month/quarter/whatever. If you thrive off of this and it motivates you (I had a coworker get motivated when a manager brought up the fact that they didn't make their goal), then by ALL MEANS apply. There are many other things that I don't want to go into because it would take me the rest of the week to type it out.

Toxic Management

Pros

Great client service skills developed.

Cons

The regional managers and property managers have an awful fear based approach to management. They are manipulative and give feedback in front of everyone so it turns into public humiliation instead of constructive criticism. It does not make sense that the longest tenured managers (especially regionals) are still there, they are the problem. Due to the de-centralized workforce model, a lot of managers get away with unprofessional conduct to direct reports. Since their is no HR on site and no higher level management it creates a terrible environment where employees do not feel that they have a voice and are not able to discern whether the conduct that happens should be or not because there is no other model for them to look at or other team dynamic for the to see.
