Lots of real-world problems to solve... Opportunities to perform R&D type tasks... satisfaction when something finally works. Provides experience in database management... Experience in Linux Shell scripts... Integration of many tech stacks.

Cons

Heavy resistance to change... Relationships matter more than competency (think "good ole' boys club"), ABL, Contract that penalizes you for leaving
