Pros

They overpay workers for little to no work and reward them for bad behavior! Poor safety and bad quality of work.

Cons

Corporate style is "do or die" even when they don't know the business and their decisions cause poor performance that cuts the bonuses of the branch managers. Corporate people think they know what's right and selectively enforce policies when they don't like people. You are just a number when working here and with bad planning, we cannot even get equipment we need to serve current work - great way to serve your customers! We are told to figure it out! It would be nice to get some support from the Ivory Tower or at least not a lead weight added to our already heavy loads! Cut costs - don't worry the good ones either have already left or are on their way out. Survey results said everything - employee engagement fell from an already low level. Get rid of jerks in middle management positions (Regions and Divisions) get real leaders, not bosses that just want to bully others or have short term goals that are not in line with branch business objectives/reward plans.

Pros

Get to experience a lot of different work and projects. And there are some really great and smart people around the organization;

Cons

HR leadership is only interested in creating an echo chamber for their team, full of yes-individuals who tell them what they want to hear. Many higher-ups and new hires come from the same former companies, and they are getting rid of employees who have different backgrounds or challenge them even if they have been at the company for decades. Layoffs occur without warning, with no exit interviews, vague explanations, and no transition plan in place for the work. They then allow the organization to think those employees left on their own rather than owning up to the decisions they make and admitting what they did. And they do this all while claiming to care about their employees, but based on actions, couldn't be further than the truth.

Don't Forget The People

Pros

-Entrepreneurial freedom - the lack of upper-level guidance/direction in the company gives middle-level managers the freedom to develop their own business units (for better or worse). -Great Individuals - the vast majority of the people I interacted with over the course of my tenure with the company were hard-working team players who succeeded despite the company's structure. -Job Security - the company's ability to corner the market for its services has ensured that there is always work available.

Cons

-Completely disengaged upper management. Executive management often treats job sites (where the company actually generates revenue) as a burden/inconvenience as opposed to the main focus of the company's efforts. -No career path for employees. There is no career management program within the company. -No mentorship, training, or professional development. The company invests absolutely nothing into developing employees. This seems to be a part of the company's business model - there is no willingness to develop or enhance the capabilities of employees. You either have the requisite skill set, or you fail.
