Pros

Great organization with a great mission. You really feel that your work directly impacts lives of people with T1D. I feel that I am fully utilizing my skills every day supporting our volunteers and donors. Good work environment and amazing new offices in the heart of New York City. The CEO is very transparent in his thinking and has a great vision for the organization. He thinks people first and has made all accommodations to keep the incredible health insurance we have available to our team mates that have been furloughed. We have been really fortunate to pivot to work from home in a blink. The transition couldn't be easier thanks to our Technology group. Great forward thinking!

Cons

There is still some legacy thinking still there even after furloughs.

Pros

Amazing environment and great staff , I've been part of JDRF for close to a year now and it has been by far the best work experience I've had in my career. The technology department under went a major restructure when I joined and I became acclimated to the work culture and my colleagues very quickly. It's a true work family and I'm grateful to the CTO for his leadership, without the restructure and new technology the entire Organization would have found it difficult to handle the COVID-19 pandemic . If it wasn't for the leadership and foresight of our CTO and technology team JDRF may have been deeply impacted from this current global crisis. I've also noticed some really harsh and negative reviews on here directed toward our technology department, not sure where this is coming from but it seems like people have become bitter due to the recent organizational downsizing. JDRF will continue to thrive because of the strength of our donors and the importance of our cause, to find a cure for T1D #Strongertogether

Pros

95% of the employees and 100% of our donors and volunteers care deeply about our mission. There is so much talent and passion embedded in our DNA that it's a joy to be here everyday. Every place I look there are inspirational people and programs.

Cons

Is JDRF dysfunctional sometimes? Absolutely. But I challenge any other organization or corporation to do better. We are made up of 750 type A personalities who will stop at nothing to make lives better - inspired by hundreds of thousands of volunteers who feel the same. Dysfunction is bound to be an every day challenge. But I've been here almost 17 years and I couldn't think of a more rewarding place to be. The only downside is that it's hard to "turn it off". It's a way of life. But considering our constituents don't have a choice in that "way of life" until there's a cure, I am inspired to keep on going in spite of it all.
