Pros

Mission driven - very caring about improving the lives of patients. Strong advocacy and fundraising efforts.

Cons

Very formal culture. No compassion for colleagues (if you are not incredibly formal internally, you are reprimanded) You are expected to do 60-70 hours a week, and if you do not, you are considered a failure - the benefits do not compensate for the long hours.

Pros

JDRF is an impactful, mission driven organization that can account for every dollar spent and demonstrate impact.

Cons

The nationalized structure makes it difficult for managers to understand the communities in which the chapters work and fundraise. Best practices and guidance, while helpful, cannot always be a one size fits all but it is highly encouraged to follow the same practices as chapters in much larger cities.

Mission driven organization doing great work.

Cons

Narrow-minded leadership who doesn’t have the needs of the employees at heart. Top-heavy with little concern for growth and while the C-suite is enjoying cushy jobs, they have little regard for the people doing the hard work. It’s a toxic work environment.
