Pros

- Fantastic cause that needs to be amplified on a wider stage. - Amazing families taking part year on year - Corporate support is incredible

Cons

- Bullying management - Aggressive approach to fundraising - Targeted irrationally with a boiler room feel - Employed as fundraising staff, left feeling under utilized, under supported and as though my skillset had depleted. I worked at JDRF and joined under some absolutely amazing management. In fact, the management I joined under were a very big reason for my taking of the position. Sadly the pandemic resulted in many restructures, team changes and redundancies - this is where the problem began. I wouldn't recommend working at JDRF in it's current state to anyone. It forced me to a really awful place. Management pretend to care, they clearly don't. From the moment I handed my notice in, I wasn't spoke to, addressed or interacted with by the team director. These are truly actions that make you feel worthless. Many, many people feel the same way & since my departure I know of many, many other team members who have left.

Pros

JDRF funds critical research that helps, and will help, so many people

Cons

-JDRF claims to be volunteer focused but what they don't disclose is volunteers are only valued if they have deep pockets. -Ethical boundaries are pushed in order to achieve fundraising goals. -The disconnect of senior leadership to chapters is astounding. -The way in which JDRF handled the covid-19 crisis is embarrassing.
