Pros

dedicated volunteers, engaged program participants, worthy cause

Cons

Not enough staff means working 60-70 + hours a week. Mostly just to keep your boss happy and try to meet/exceed revenue goals. If you work here, make sure your first priority is making your boss like you. Most important. JDRF monitors everything you do and evaluates the time you take to complete a task. Keyboard strokes, telephone calls, etc. Very invasive. Even if you meet/exceed goals, you will be nitpicked about your use of time. Don't waste time engaging with anyone other than your boss.. Also, JDRF doesn't care about programs/services they say are available. The programs they have are just for marketing that they help so people will donate and fundraise. People, other than to give or raise donations, mean nothing. When goals are met, they're constantly increased (by a lot). Good is never good enough. Huge staff turnover because they don't care about employees or anyone else. This is a money making business packaged as a nonprofit, which pays huge salaries and bonuses to leadership. However, until you get way up the Food Chain, you will be constantly harassed to do more. No matter how much you exceed goals. They just move the mark and focus on what they deem your shortcomings. Its about being liked.. Burn out job. No loyalty to employees. Always ready to throw employees under the bus. Hard pass on this organization.

Pros

Good Mission Excellent volunteer support Feels like I contribute to the big picture frequently All funding truly goes to mission

Cons

No endowment = no emergency fund to sustain their operational costs, including their employees Poor communication & organization from the top down Technology is lacking, especially their CRM best practices Benefits are good, but could be better for an international organization Their HR department is improving with their new Chief Human Resources Officer, but she has a lot of work to do

Great Mission, Volunteers are great and are a huge part of JDRF's success.

Cons

Chapter staff neglected by National Staff. Overworked, underpaid, high turn over. Made the job very difficult.
