Pros

Great systems training and mission materials

Cons

Internal conflicts, work/life balance no so great, it seemed to come down to being all about the bottom line, not great room for advancement

Pros

-amazing health benefits - I mean AMAZING! -very generous time off package even for new employees -extremely passionate staff and volunteer base -the work is always interesting and it's a very exciting time to be in the diabetes research arena with all the recent advancements -lots of great changes within the organization right now

Cons

-can be demanding at times, but for me, that is what keeps it interesting (my opinion) -the staffing headcount is very little compared to amount of money that is raised. While this can also be a positive, when there is turnover, it puts a lot of strain on the others who are all managing very full plates.

Pros

JDRF supports finding a cure for T1D and working with the volunteers and newly diagnosed families is very rewarding but I don't know where our funds are going these days. Closed between Christmas and New Year.

Cons

No employee loyalty or commitment. No opportunity for career advancement or development. No job security. Reorganizations every 6 months that can pull the rug from under you. JDRF doesn't support the values they promote. The latest claim to company progress is a relaxed dress code policy and flexible summer hours. Seriously? With all that is not right this is the best management can come up with? Work life balance for chapter staff is non-existent with the push to raise more and more money. The pressure is unbelievable.
