      Pros

      JDRF is really in business to put itself out of business. Their goal is to cure Type 1 Diabetes, and they are extremely fiscally responsible in doing so. Volunteers have a large say in directing research, because they believe in looking outside of the box.

      Cons

      While there are opportunities for career advancement there are definitely some departments that have people who have worked there with such longevity that it is impossible to move up since there are no openings.

      Pros

      -amazing health benefits - I mean AMAZING! -very generous time off package even for new employees -extremely passionate staff and volunteer base -the work is always interesting and it's a very exciting time to be in the diabetes research arena with all the recent advancements -lots of great changes within the organization right now

      Cons

      -can be demanding at times, but for me, that is what keeps it interesting (my opinion) -the staffing headcount is very little compared to amount of money that is raised. While this can also be a positive, when there is turnover, it puts a lot of strain on the others who are all managing very full plates.
