Pros

I met a lot of people, the branch manager agreed to give me a good reference. I learned a lot about the inner workings of a non-profit.

Cons

There was no formal training process and it was unpaid. I was in the office about 15 hours a week and did many of the tasks the branch manager did.

Great place to work while in between jobs or taking a break from full time work

Cons

You have to be motivated to work on your own, as typically you work out of your home office. Also, not much guidance provided by the CEO - you need to figure out the projects with your team.

Pros

Lots of room for learning and growth, great mission, organization has a good track record of success, they invest in their employees through trainings, conferences, etc. Great benefits including comp time and reimbursement for professional development.

Cons

Know that this is a large, bureaucratic organization, so it runs like one. Lots of levels of management, and the majority of strategic and even day-to-day directives come from way above the level of the chapter staff.
