Pros

I absolutely loved working at Bridgestone. It was, without a doubt, one of the best places I’ve ever worked. The culture, the people, the sense of purpose.... it was truly special. That changed significantly after Scott Damon took over. Since his leadership began, there have been three rounds of layoffs, and there’s a constant sense of instability with no clear end in sight. Morale has taken a hit, and it feels like decisions are being made with profit as the only priority, not people. It's disheartening to see a place I cared deeply about shift so drastically. If you’re considering joining, I would urge caution. The uncertainty around job security is very real right now, and the direction of the company feels unclear

Cons

Leadership under Scott Damon has led to three rounds of layoffs, creating ongoing instability and low morale. The company feels increasingly focused on profits over people, and the culture that once made it special is fading.

Pros

Great benefits, great physical work environment, good salaries.

Cons

Terrible leadership and mid level management. Very little room or opportunity to advance if in the lower hierarchy position. Since it is a multi level organizational structure, there is a huge gap between the top of the organization and the lower levels, that lead to disenfranchisement of the employees, disengagement and the silo effect. Decision making and action taking is slow. The verbal committments on creating a great culture, a free to be movement and D&I efforts are just that, verbal. There is no actual action to make the culture better. The top leadership is in their own bubble with no efficent way to connect to an every day worker on any level. D&I and HR departments are a joke and just a facade. There is an apparent huge turn over in the HR department, and since almost self governing, they pretty much do whatever they want, and retain or promote terrible leaders. No true career development and advancement for an average employee. Although, the company leadership is very vocal on presenting the efforts to improve career development of its employees, But again, they are all verbal statements with no actionable steps to make them a reality.

Pros

Have to be extraordinarily bad in order to get fired for performance issues. Corporate is very afraid of Amazon coming to town, so new hires can leverage that for higher salaries.

Cons

The office space at the corporate Tower is anti-productivity. HR is completely incompetent. Gross, possibly criminal, pay discrepancies exist within the same role. New hires make 15-20% more than Top Performers with 3-5 years in the role. Very limited raise/promotion potential. Managers have a nasty habit of blocking employees from taking jobs in other departments. No paternity leave. Expect to work 60+hours to start. Due to heavy parking restrictions, this means you won't be able to use the fancy gym. Constant hiring freezes so you team is always understaffed. Will likely face massive layoffs in 6-9 months.
