Pros

There's definitely work/life balance at Bright Horizons. They respect that you might have commitments outside of work to take care of children or at home; and offer the ability to work from home if the need arises. There are many resources to improve soft skills via their learning services; this includes using MS office or learning how to have difficult conversations or just up-leveling your collaboration abilities. The office is generally friendly. The company is well respected for the services it provides to working mothers and families. The company is trying to improve its diversity and inclusion.

Cons

The pay isn't that great for the Boston area. It's not that competitive compared to other technology companies in the area especially for Salesforce professionals. You actually don't have a lot of leverage on being the change agent for improved business processes or launching new features. Your Salesforce skills will take a back seat and become stale since the company is currently focused on just maintaining the existing platform. The company doesn't seem interested in getting a high ROI for their Salesforce investment but instead just focus on status-quo.

Pros

Flexible work schedule (in some departments). Business operations does a great job at planning and executing employee events ( free lunches, activities, raffles, etc.) Great location - right next to Watertown & Arsenal Malls.

Cons

No room for growth, management is all over the place...continuous change of roles, structure - very unorganized. Many in upper management do not deserve to be in their position, but because of politics and length of time at the company what they actually do is overlooked. Horrible at communicating anything. They only really care about numbers, although they promote that they care about "employee well-being" and the HEART principles. I have reported 2-3 clear cases of HEART principle violations to HR and absolutely nothing was done at all...not even a follow up conversation. It's all very fake until you actually see how things work. You are very replaceable.

I have a job I can tell other people when they ask me about Bright Horizons; not to work here. Hopefully the STATE will come soon to evaluate this center at NORTH DURHAM for its Teachers being out of ratio everyday.

Cons

No Administrative support Out of Ratio in every classroom Shifting kids from in every classroom No bathroom breaks No planning time Sitting in the Admin office voicing our concerns is like talking to someone with diminished capacity.
