Pros

Co-workers will all be excellent, fun, supportive people. The fact that most locations have a back office where you’ll have a desk/not have to stand in a retail space is a major plus if you’re used to retail! Fast paced so the day goes by quickly despite the unnecessarily long hours! The back office will be so fun when managers aren’t present and you’ll probably get more work done regardless. Health insurance actually pretty good! Diamonds and gemstones are pretty and fun to sell.

Cons

Where to start….. 1. The quality of the products (compared to the relative price) is mind boggling. Expect constant calls, emails, in person confrontations with customers who’s rings have fallen apart, expect BE to do nothing but give them the run around until they leave a public bad review, if at all. you will get used to it but it will never NOT suck. 2. Management is incredibly hit or miss, and will micromanage anything and everything. I’ve been brought to tears several times over the gaslighting and demeaning language coming from the showroom management. Higher ups know and did next to nothing. Showroom management also knows nothing about jewelry/jewelry industry making for some hilarious customer interactions. Good luck if you ever need them to help one of your clients! They will expect you to fix their mistakes and retaliate if you “go above their heads” with complaints 3. Goals are ridiculously unattainable. This is coming from someone who technically hit all of theirs. The amount of work you will do for this company only to have the carrot dangled further and further, you seriously cannot win. You will have to fight other sales reps for every sale, as they are just as stressed to make their goals as you are! Example: First quarter sales goal can be someone from 100-200k, make less then 100% and you will take home around $500…. before tax. Laughable how much money you will make for the company/how many upset clients you will deescalate for a few hundred bucks, if you’re lucky! Managers you interview with will not be honest about the work itself or how many people make a bonus. From someone previously on the inside, I can say its less then 50%. Also zero sick pay! I could write a book.
