Pros

You work with some of the best people in Seattle. Coworkers often become like family. Unlimited PTO is great and people stay at the company for 5+ years, which shows how little burn out there is. The product and company mission are also something most employees are proud to stand behind which is always a plus.

Cons

Pay is low, low, low both for the industry and especially Seattle. Discounted product is great, but at the end of the day free shoes don't offset Seattle rents. Promotions are rare so make sure you bargain for the highest entry salary you can!

I’m glad to hear your time with Brooks was positive. I'm proud of the business, brand, culture and team we’re building. It’s a gift to be part of a purpose-driven brand that is improving people’s lives. On the topic of pay, every year we consult third-party market data to benchmark each role at Brooks to ensure salaries remain competitive in our industry and against similar companies. Free/deeply discounted gear is only one additional part of our total compensation package. Our generous PTO, annual bonus and 401k programs also add value for many. Regarding promotions, some teams are growing faster than others given the needs of the business. I’m excited that about one-third of open positions in 2018 were filled internally, and 2019 is off to a great start in that regard. The growth we're seeing in our business and the opportunities it’s creating for our team members is exciting. Thanks for being a part of the Brooks journey. I wish you well wherever your path takes you! Jim

Thanks for your feedback. It’s great to hear your thoughts about the people of Brooks – I also appreciate the Brooks “family.” Regarding pay, we benchmark all salaries annually and work hard to keep them competitive in industry and in market. Over time, we hope our current and prospective employees find compelling our total compensation/benefits offering and the opportunity to be part of a team that is improving lives around the world. Pros

-Best coworkers you will ever have -Super casual office environment! Flip flops and shorts are welcome (when the weather permits) - 3-5 weeks of PTO -

Cons

-Pay is terrible for the city of Seattle -The building averages at about 78 degrees in the summer for South facing windows and is very uncomfortable to work in (bring a desk fan!) -Open concept office is like a party, but terrible for getting anything done. You'll need noise cancelling headphones in this loud environment.

Thank you for providing your perspective and feedback. It's great to see Brooks is a place you'd recommend to others! From my own experience, so many Brooks employees bring passion, energy and commitment to work every day because engaging with runners, the sport and the active lifestyle is so positive. Every day is a better with a run and Brooks helps make that happen. I personally get enthused by it and I think we attract others who share that passion. Around pay, it's important to know that each year, with the help of third-party market data, we benchmark every role to ensure we remain competitive against similar companies. As important, we think about our total compensation and benefits package. Our annual bonus program, PTO policy, 401k program, and deeply discounted/free gear and race registration all contribute to making that strong. The pride in the products we bring to market, the excitement for our current growth and future opportunity, the flexible work environment, the emphasis on a healthy work-life balance and an active lifestyle, the amazing events and volunteer opportunities we offer…. all these things make working at Brooks unique. As for the open office layout, while connection and collaboration flourish in this type of environment, we recognize that focus work can be challenging, especially for those who prefer not to use one of our many private focus rooms. In this hot Seattle summer, we'll keep working with building owners on ways to even out the temperature in the different areas of the office; the need to actively manage temperature zones is part and parcel of being in a uniquely green building! Thank you again for making time to provide this feedback, all the best in your future. Jim
