Pros

-Lots of fake enthusiasm that keeps people motivated in a weird cult like way -nice new green building that they rent most of it out -low priced lunch -they WANT you to run at lunch

Cons

-management is awful. Simply awful. Bullying is ignored or the norm especially by management types. -No process -cheap. low pay, bad benefits. You'll need to fight for everything you can get, which isn't much. -no place for mid-level people to grow into. If promoted, with minimal pay bump -HIGH turnover. Seriously, especially in IT. It may be better after the former director was invited to leave and not let the door hit her on the way out. - employees are NOT valued or invested in -disorganized -definitely not politically correct -generally an horrible place to work with some nice people here and there (but not in management)

Pros

What makes Brooks good is few people who have enthusiasm for sports and running. The employees that like Brooks are all passionate about one thing and that is basically the run. But the story ends here. Do not work hard here else you will be made responsible for all the bad things.

Cons

I see that Brooks is completely ruined. There are mostly low performing people in the company that just want to keep the bar low. So if someone better comes in, they just want to take him down. That explains huge attrition rates and making people want to leave the company at first opportunity. There is lot of rhetoric and once you have worked at this place, best luck finding new position. They never promote employee well being. The worst part is management and also how incompetent the management is. HR is just there to sleep and doze off and there is corruption everywhere as most people are there just to pass the time.

Pros

Used to be small enough you knew everyone and they knew you and that made it a special place. Now it's borderline corporate. Brooks used to have a laid back environment but that's changed as well. Hydration Wednesdays were a fun and quirky benefit; that's gone too. If you run you can disappear for hours at a time during the day. Depends on your running ability and the department.

Cons

Lacks true leadership. Way too many corporate middle managers go from zero-to-hero when they come to Brooks from the big companies. Management claims to have a plan but the execution is either ill planned or just non-existent. Like many other reviews here, I've also witnessed and experienced the smile to your face and stab you in the back mentality. There's way too much politics here for such a simple business. This place did a number on my career. Came in with a solid foundation and good trajectory but was slowed down, suffocated, demoralized and disrespected. All while taking a pay cut to work for this "cool, run happy" company which turned out to be a bait and switch.
