Pros

Making peoples day, and the heart ceremony

Cons

There was a lot of pressure from the regional manager, and many employees felt intimidated by her.

Pros

The salary was okay, and I was able to make ends meet.

Cons

I was frustrated by the inadequate workshop demonstrations. They were cheap, repetitive, and failed to engage or inspire customers. My manager was uninterested in providing any additional training or resources to improve the demonstrations. He would just tell us to wing it and make it fun. I tried my best to come up with creative and engaging demonstrations, but I was limited by the cheap materials and supplies that were provided. I also had to deal with constant interruptions from my manager, who would often insult our creativity and tell us that our ideas were "too complicated". As, a result, the workshop demonstrations were often boring and uninspired. Customers would often leave the store feeling disappointed and let down. I was ashamed of the experience that we were providing to our customers, and I felt like I was doing a disservice to the company.

Pros

Not much pros to this job. I guess the employee discount is pretty neat but I have no interest in buying stuffed bears.

Cons

This job is surprisingly very demanding, especially when you consider the fact that you get paid a measly amount. Management expects employees to smile and act ecstatic 24/7, and even a hint of you not pretending to be cheerful will put you in a lot of trouble. I understand that employees need to be cheerful in front of customers and children, but the fact that management nitpicks on workers having basic human emotions and showing them for brief moments (AWAY from any customers) is just too much to handle.
