Fantastic Company

Pros

Bullhorn is, by far, the best company I have ever worked for. The leaders care, the people are great - and the company cares about the products and services we offer. Work/Life balance is something this company cares a lot about - and something our CEO, Art, mentions frequently in our quarterly Town Halls. The Town Halls are great and there is much more transparency than I have seen in the previous companies I have worked for. The HR team cares deeply about us (special shout out to Todd!), and they do a good job of balancing trainings while also leading by example. I also really like that they aren't super "HR-ish" and talk to people like real people. It has to be hard to be in HR and I appreciate that the clearly spend a lot of time and reflection on how to interact with the team. I've been promoted several times during my tenure at Bullhorn - the opportunities and compensation have been life-changing for me and my family. I've learned a ton here, lots of "what to do" and a few painful experiences of "what not to do". Coaching has been really solid, and I feel that I get feedback that is usable while not crushing me. Long story short, this place is the real deal. Even when it gets hard (and it does sometimes), the team rallies and we all have each others backs.

Cons

None I can think of at this time.

I might be biased, but this is such a rave review! ;) I'm serious really happy to see you are loving our culture so much. This is a place of supportive learning and growing (I, too, have had a few painful ones as well!) and we aim to be transparent and real for our employees - I am glad this is resonating. I appreciate your comments on HR - my team has worked SO hard at changing the perception of our function and at being an approachable resource for our employees. Incredible Culture & Room to Grow

Pros

Bullhorn has managed to maintain a cozy culture where they encourage collaboration and a team of employees who are always willing to help. Well connected workforce even during the pandemic, lots of ways to make sure you feel surrounded by a supportive team. If you are looking to make an impact, there is a lot of ways to do so here.

Cons

They could benefit from more sophistication in operations, act like the company they aspire to be versus reactive to the current state. Leadership is disappointingly male and white across the board but they are working to change. While they foster internal mobility opportunities and respect potential, sometimes you need people that have done the job in the top roles in order to scale.

Pros

- Great culture, people and benefits - Lots of opportunities for career development - Great work/life balance

Cons

Bullhorn has a convoluted performance review score card with lots of categories and goal and weights, most of which are subjectively scored by managers and some of which are based on things you have no control over and others based on specific quarterly goals/projects that are not tied to your day-to-day sprint work. In my experience this process is well-intentioned and reasonable, but also mostly useless. Nobody wants to get quarterly scores on innate personality traits.

Thanks for your feedback. We are happy that you see the many pros of working at Bullhorn. We appreciate your feedback about the performance management process and scorecards. While the scorecards are a great tool when they are used properly, it sounds like you have some challenges with these tools. I would recommend that you connect with your direct manager and pass along your feedback to him/her. And...you'll be happy to know that we will are currently working on enhancing our overall approach to simplify these tools and processes. If you have any ideas on how to make the process and tools more effective - please email me at: kristin.leary@bullhorn.com or give me a call. Please keep sharing your feedback with your direct manager and me on how we can make things even better!
