A “caring” company

Pros

People are generally nice and there’s a lot of collaboration within your division to connect with co-workers.

Cons

They severely under appreciate employees. The workload is ridiculous. You either go above and beyond with no acknowledgement, or do the best with what you’re given to stay afloat and are punished. It was much better pre-pandemic. They’ll move you to a new area and/or switch your manager to your detriment if it benefits the company, but don’t consider the adjustment involved, which slows your development. Then when it’s time for reviews they tell you that you haven’t developed enough and your job is on the line. Performance improvement plans are given out like candy, which fosters an anxiety-ridden environment, and makes people either quit or get fired. They also move associate buyers to cover senior buyer roles but won’t promote them to buyers, or leave an assistant without a buyer for almost a year. There’s also no consistency on development and promotions. Some assistants are fired after 2 years because they are seen as not yet promotable, while others they keep for 4+ years without any promotion.

Pros

Burlington is growing! I'm glad to be part of a company that's opening beautiful new stores. The company solicits feedback from employees and is serious about their core values.

Cons

None, there are opportunities for people who are hard workers.

Pros

Easy to land a job Pay is okay for someone without any bills Discount on everything Hours are okay depending on the time of year.

Cons

HR sold the job like it would be the most funniest place to work. But really its horrible. Didn't get my schedule until a week after starting. On my first day they pretty much just threw me in the back tagging clothes, which isn't my job. Management doesn't have a clue what goes on since they pretty much stay in their office all day. I could have been sitting in my car my whole shift and they wouldn't even know. The staff is full of middle age people that just gossip all day and take the job way to serious.
