Pros

This place is not for the faint of heart, but this place is for me. We have experienced a lot of change in the last few months, and honestly, it is for the better. I hear nothing but negativity around my office on a daily basis regarding our new leadership and the things he is implementing, but it is SO good. Before our AVP got gifted to us, we had no idea what was expected of us, we had no attendance policy, which was not good for a call center/service center environment, we had no metrics to abide by, and nobody was holding us accountable. Yes, a lot has changed and very quickly, but every single thing is what is needed to move our department in the right direction. We have some of the best supervisors you could ever ask for. Angie, Kelsey, and Sean are three of the most genuinely caring people I have ever met and to this day, they continue to blow me away with how much they truly care for us and want us to succeed. There is a lot expected of us, but they do not expect any more than any other workplace does of its employees. I am tired of hearing the crap talking, the negativity and the bad mouthing of our leadership and of the company as a whole. This company is a good place to work, it is not for everyone, but it is a very solid company. Yes, we get free food, free drinks, free meals, etc., but there is so much more to this company.

Cons

Disappointed that I am having to fight to get fertility treatments and the time off I need, but understanding why. Not enough vacation time. Very offended with the BSC way last week on Wednesday when our CEOs wife said "guess what? You chose us - we didn't choose you." That is not a way to talk to employees you should value and who work hard for your company. Very disappointed in that attitude.

Pros

It's hard work, and it's satisfing. This is a job that you know is affecting thousands. If you really put the effort into what you do then it pays off. It's a challenging fast pace environment. The company offers a generous incentive program designed around those who have been here for a year and are meeting or exceeding goals. It's not politics it's metrics. Not necessarily a con or a pro but Raises are sometimes a struggle, management feels that it's up to the employee to bring it up not the employer. So just being here isn't a "selling point" but growing learning more about your job and contributing more, ie being more valuable gets you a raise.

Cons

There are some significant polarities in work loads throughout the year, this can drive people nuts going from extremely busy to not. Vacation is realivley low, 10 days or if you negotiate you get more. No Vision plan

Pros

Having worked at some of the large companies in Des Moines, Businessolver is a breath of fresh air. They have established a great culture that drives and supports a great Software As A Service product. I believe that leaders throughout the organization empower employees to think for themselves and innovate within their skill set. Businessolver's culture is amazing, very little bureaucracy or politics. They clearly are focused employee engagement. Here's a list of all the things I love: 1. Every morning I'm greeted at the door by name with a smile 2. Free food is provided regularly freeing me from having to pack a lunch or go out for fast food. 3. I'm encouraged to exercise in the gym during the day. (Can actually earn days off by doing so) 4. Relatively flat organization hierarchy 5. Work life balance - not asked to work extra hours or take home work with me 6. They hire great people so you're surrounded by smart talented people 7. They have fun - I look forward to coming to work

Cons

Compared to other places I have worked Businessolver offers less vacation time.
