Pros

I've been working in IT as a developer for less than 2 years. Reading through these posts compelled me to give my opinion of the IT realm at Businessolver. If you're looking for an easy job, this place isn't it. If you want to focus on one thing, this place isn't it. I've never been asked to stay after 5, or come in before 8. Once a week I'll work a few hours from home at night because I want to complete something. Your days can slip away from you pretty easy. IT moves really fast, and our release schedule is quick and relentless. I really like the flat management structure. Each team has a lead, and the leads report to the VP. We are using some of the best supporting technologies. We mostly do video meetings so we're not staring at a phone. We've had some new leaders come on board. They are bringing more great ideas.. Quarterly reviews, and we finished our first internal Hackathon! We are starting a al-a-carte of tasks where they have a price, and if you complete it on your own time, you get the $. Aside from all that, the best "Pro" is not just the employees, but the quality of employees. They are passionate and driven. It's fun to be around people who are great at what they do, and it has vastly improved my skill set as well.

Cons

Parking -When I started, we all walked uphill both ways in the snow. Interview process needs improved.. Possibly back-to-back interviews to be more considerate of the prospect's time. Ditch the video recording and do live video chat if there is a need to show technical skills.

Pros

The onboarding and new hire orientation has been fantastic. We've had a chance to interact with the executive team and learn about all the functional areas of the business before we begin to focus on our defined jobs. This is the smallest company I've worked for. It was pretty cool that the CEO spent time with us in our first week on the job. He seems very approachable and has a ton of energy. One thing that was said that I thought was kind of cool was that they didn't hire us for our Businessolver experience, they hired us for the experience we've gained in previous roles. I guess it makes sense, but appreciate the comment. There were two people in our class that had come back to Businessolver after leaving, which I found interesting. One of the people that came back said "sometimes the grass isn't always greener on the other side". He seemed really happy to be back and has been good for our new hire class. I've been assigned to three new clients in a technical support role. They seem happy with the system and the overall service. Based on what you read on previous posts, I was a bit nervous. All in all, I'm glad I joined the company. I'm about 4 months into the job. It's off to a good start and I'm looking forward to growing my career within the company.

Cons

Haven't really come across any yet. There is a lot of construction going on, but assume that will pass and we will have a nicer looking office. Was a bit bummed out when I heard a few people mention Glassdoor. I hadn't read the posts before I started. Doesn't seem accurate to what I've experienced thus far.

Pros

The perceived opportunities. Some very good people around the company. Perfect environment if you out of college, you don't know any better.

Cons

A state of chaos. Little to no training or direction. If your not from the Iowa family, tough going. Hired for technical experience but driven to ignore and fall back to bad habits . They love the "seeker" term which really means, bad training....you're on your own .
