Pros

I love working with kids. The job itself was wonderful and I was with really great families. There were some hard days, but it truly didn't feel like work.

Cons

Complete lack of communication. I was supposed to schedule a time to take the test to get RBT certified, and no one followed up with me on my emails about it. My mentor quit and my supervisor moved to a different state, so the supervisor I had in the meantime had to drive from another city. Expectations weren't clearly stated and I was new, so I didn't even know what questions to ask about that. Overall, I just didn't feel supported as an employee. I was told in my interview that I would be able to get full-time hours after a few months, but after being hired, that changed to being offered only 15 hours in 6 months' time. I was only working 6 hours in the beginning and I had to drive to the clients' home and it just wasn't worth it.

We are disappointed you had a negative experience working for Butterfly Effects. As a result of your review, we have put into place communication protocols with both our mentor staff and field clinicians. It is unfortunate you did not contact Executive Leadership to address these concerns; but we value your input and encourage you to feel free to directly contact our Director of Professional Development at Training@ButterflyEffects.com With respect to hours, all of our Behavior Technician positions in San Antonio are posted as part-time and reaffirmed during interviews that the role is part-time with a general expectation of 9-15 hours.
