Hello,
Thank you for the feedback. I am of course disappointed to read this review. Here are some quick responses to your concerns:
“High expectations with little training on the task to complete”- We have a fully staffed training department that any behavior technician may be referred to at any time. All BCBAs receive monthly training from some of the prominent ABA-based researchers in the field. Butterfly Effects also has an educational partnership with Endicott College for staff to obtain a BCBA or PhD.
“Raises promised but never given”- This should never be the case. We have a fully staffed HR department that processes staff increases on a regular basis. I am uncertain what occurred in your situation, but staff are always to in contact the corporate office over any compensation processing issues.
“No holiday pay even though its required to be off that day or sessions are cancelled.” – Unfortunately, the fee for service methodology for paying medical claims impedes our ability to offer holiday pay to behavior technicians. We try to compensate for thus loss by offering above average hourly tech rates.
-“HR hardly responds” – Again, this is not my experience. I hold the HR highly accountable for responding all employees within 24. I am sorry you had a bad experience.
“High caseload for BCBAs little support can be given to Clinical supervisors” – This is not true! Butterfly Effects has some of the lowest BCBA caseload in the ABA business. California caseloads may be higher due to the 3-tier clinical model. However, when compared to other home-based ABA companies, our caseloads are one of the smallest.
“Expectations are high and so is burnout” – We do have high expectations. I have set up a local management structure to support staff and prevent burnout.
“Takes on too many new cases for the number of staff available”. We try never to accept cases without a clear behavior technician match.
I want to make Butterfly Effects a place with behavior technicians and BCBAs love their jobs. It sounds like you the company has let you down and you have many concerns. I strongly encourage you to call me. I will listen and try to learn from your feedback.
