Pros

Digital marketing boot camp: the reality is, if you can suffer through 1.5/2 years. You’ll learn A TON. There’s a lot of opportunities for cross functional collaboration with other teams like paid media and content but those collaborations are out of necessity because you’re thrown in the deep end and told to swim. C-4 does a great job of providing lots of trainings for everyday processes as well as opportunities to expand your skill set in SEO and SEM….if you can genuinely find the time to balance your required work. The first 9 months are the hardest as you’re adjusting the the realities of the automotive world, and start realising that c-4 is not as ahead of the times as they claim to be. Your management team will truly make or break your experience. I was thankful enough to be on a great team with a manager that wasn’t drinking the koolaid and understood that we were really struggling. Other managers will tend to just blame a clients poor performance on you. I’ve heard horror stories about managers making their juniors cry and have no empathy when clients are blatantly mean. You get unlimited PTO but good luck with catching up when you come back.

Cons

Think to yourself, have you ever had a pleasant experience when buying a car? Now think about working with those same clients on a daily basis. No work life balance, you’ll find yourself working late more often than not Clients want you to move mountains to accommodate them Good luck if you get placed on a team with bad management Since you’re 100% client facing, the clients will also make or break your experience Reality check, the company claims to have 200 employees but have 150+ glassdoor reviews, think about that turnover rate…. Look at the turnover on LinkedIn, so many people don’t last past the first year because it’s brutal Low pay and positive acknowledgment from management isn’t always directed towards the right employees. Tons of micromanagement Issues with paid media and SEO are blamed on the client services while the teams actually responsible for the issues never take accountability for their actions. HR will say they’re “constantly growing” when the reality is, people leave so frequently that they have to constantly replace lower level team members. All upper management positions are promoted from within because the few times they have hired externally, the senior managers quit pretty quickly because of the monsoon of responsibilities. If you preform well, you’ll just get more responsibilities.
