      Pros

      Only as a stepping stone to another job. If you can do it, because many companies do not hire from CA. CA also has some jobs that are entry level and would provide good insights into what CIO's are thinking.

      Cons

      CA is a MAINFRAME software company who at different points tries to make themselves out to be branching out to distributed software. The fact is the company is hamstrung and needs to be separated. The acquired companies tend to die on the vine at CA, but even then, CA has curtailed their acquisitions 2 years ago. Can you say milk the maintenance?.

      Pros

      A stable company with reasonable benefits package. Mature products means more streamlined revenue so job stability is better compared to other smaller companies.

      Cons

      Career growth prospects are not great. The importance they give for in grown products is very poor - so not many opportunities to showcase your talents.
