Pros

At least when I was there, CA did have some very bright people who were doing their best to manage in an environment which was constantly changing

Cons

Frequent Reorganizations, Periodic layoffs (one friend recently said "It's May and I'm still here, so I think I'm OK". rotating cast of powers that be with a hidebound core set of ancients (many of these folks have "left").

Pros

The people and the recognition CA gives them. This was a strong area in the past where people make CA and are valued for that.

Cons

CA is making poor decisions lately about really pushing a SaaS product line, though it will never make money and never be able to replace the strong existing product lines. Also, management has become directionless yet militant lately. I am glad to be moving on.

Pros

There are some good products. Veracode was a good acquisition and they're still good on the mainframe. They're profitable and the benefits are good. There are good people who try to help. Good in sales if you're on the large accounts.

Cons

A lot of the products are falling behind and they are have some form of lay off every year. When they acquired someone they have to cut elsewhere to keep the headcount constant. The culture is fading and they don't commit to anything longer than 18 to 24 months, and usually 12 which makes it very hard to commit yourself to them.
