      Pros

      We always work on cutting-edge challenging projects. The work is interesting, multifaceted, the people are extremely professional and knowledgeable, the work environment is pleasant. It is one of those rare places that takes the skill set you developed in grad school to a whole new level by combining theoretical and modeling work with focus on building practical, implementable systems.

      Cons

      Often much reduced opportunities for publishing or obtaining patents, depending on the private nature of work. Relatively limited opportunities for promotions.

      Pros

      Good salary, Fairly good benefits. They are actively trying to improve the annual review process. When our government contract was lost, they at least made an attempt to line up employment openings with displaced employees.

      Cons

      401(k) has 0% Vesting until 3 years of service. With over 3,000 openings, the company had fewer than 10 openings that allowed remote work. Thus, unless you wanted to move to another region of the country, there is no follow-on work for displaced employees.

      Pros

      Decent pay and health benefits.

      Cons

      Federal government contractors are treated like second-class citizens, but this is not specific to CACI. If you want to feel like you are valued, stay away from federal government contracting altogether.
